04-01-2011 - Aquamid’s symposium and Scientific session at IMCAS 2011

In January 2011 the aesthetic world’s attention turns to Paris, where Plastic Surgeons from all over the world gather to hear news from the industry and researchers at International Master Course on Aging Skin (IMCAS). It is the 13th year in a row that the industry gets a chance to present their latest findings and new innovations.

At IMCAS, Aquamid will be presented both at a scientific session and at a symposium, where four highly recognized physicians will give their views on the product.

The scientific session will take place on Sunday January 9th 14.30 - 16.30 in room 7, where Dr. Steven H. Dayan, one of the investigators, will present the 24-month safety follow-up results from the US pivotal trial.

Dr. Dayan is a facial plastic surgeon, clinical assistant professor at the University of Illinois, and a recognized expert in his field with a private clinic in Chicago. He is a certified member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and board certified in the American Board of Otolaryngology.

The symposium will take place on Friday January 7th at 10:30 in room 5, where Aquamid will be presented from four different angles.

Dr. Rhoda Narins will be presenting the clinical evidence on Aquamid and differences to other hydrogels.

Dr. Narins is a world-renowned dermatologic surgeon, and a clinical professor at New York University Medical Center. She is an expert in soft tissue fillers and has participated in many clinical trials and was the principal investigator in the Aquamid comparative pivotal US study, where Aquamid was compared to Restylane®.

Dr. Natalia Ribé Subirà will discuss different techniques and solutions for the global treatment of the face with Aquamid Reconstruction.

Dr. Ribé is an aesthetic doctor and a medical director at Institut Dra Natalia Ribe in Barcelona, Spain, who has specialized in cosmetic medicine, nutrition, obesity, andrology and laser therapy. She has an extensive, long-term experience with Aquamid & Aquamid Reconstruction for both reconstructive and aesthetic indications.

Dr. Gary Monheit will be presenting the expected use of Aquamid in the US based on the latest trends in aesthetic surgery and the unique characteristics of Aquamid.

Dr. Monheit is a highly recognized dermatologist, who besides his private clinic in is a professor in dermatology at University of Alabama. He is the president of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the past president of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. He was an investigator for the Aquamid US pivotal trial.
